Unfortunately, I had to cancel tonight's class because I'm fighting a terrible cold. Hopefully, you all can use this time to start working on your How-To webpage. I've also shared some resources to help you practice your HTML, and if you're really eager to keep learning, there are some CSS resources, too.
Exercise: Make your own how-to tutorial
By now, you should have a good idea of what kind of how-to tutorial you want to create for this project. Follow the directions below to start writing code for your project in Glitch.
To get started, remix this sample project in Glitch.
If you've already started creating your how-to page in the contracostacodes project, please move that code into your own project.
- Log into Glitch with your Github username and password.
- I've created a sample project from the Recipe page we have been working on. Click here to remix this sample project in Glitch. Remixing will create a copy of the project in your own account so you can edit it.
- The name of your project needs to be unique, so rename your project:
yourusername-howto. - Now you can start adding your own content. Feel free to keep or delete as much of the sample code as you'd like.
- Share the link to your project in the #html-css Slack channel.

Maybe you feel like you need more practice using HTML tags. Freecodecamp.org has free, interactive coding lessons.
The first 16 lessons of their Basic HTML course is a review of what we have learned so far in this class. You can complete the lessons without signing up, but if you want to save your progress, you can log in using your GitHub username and password.
Learn About CSS
If you're eager to start learning about CSS, like we would have done in tonight's class, you might want to start the Basic CSS lessons from freecodecamp.org. The first 10 lessons will give you a preview of the topics we'll cover in the next week or two.
